FAITH & FAMILY
When you come to Impact, you belong and you are welcome! We want every Impact student to be a part of a caring community of people - people who will be their friend no matter that. Friendship that turns in to family. We work to help students develop healthy, Christ-centered, friendships. In Impact, we want to take those friendships a step further so that they become more like family.
Meet The Team
hosted by: Mike and Kristen Hopkins
Josh was born and raised in Cuyahoga Heights, OH. He grew up at Valley View Village Church and has enjoyed serving children and youth from a young age. Josh graduated from Cuyahoga Heights High School in 2013 and spent two years at Tri-C studying Early Childhood. His hands-on career path leads him to a Maintenance position at the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District.
In 2017, Josh married Audrey, together they reside in Cleveland Heights purchasing their first home together in 2019.
Audrey grew up in Southeastern Michigan and attended Kent State University to study Interior Design. After graduating from KSU in 2013 she found the Lord lead her to stay in Cleveland for a full-time design position. Audrey and Josh met while attending Neo Church in Independence. Together they enjoy getting outdoors, tackling house projects, and their newest addition to the family, Remington, a Barque Du Bourbonnais (French Pointer).
Serving at Cuyahoga Valley Church through Impact has been nothing short of blessing these past two years. We’ve enjoyed getting to know students on a deeper level while serving alongside the Hopkins, Fruits, Henards, Cort, and Dahlia!
James is the fun loving father of 3 kids. They have twins (one boy and one girl) who are studying at the University of Toledo and a 14-year-old son, Max who attends the Lawrence School in Northfield. The Fruits family loves serving in CVCYouth because they love seeing students come to have a relationship with Jesus … and James never actually grew up, so he still fits in really well.
Mike and Kristen Hopkins were good friends in high school, dated in college, and got married way back in 1994. They are parents to 6 wonderful kids: Will, Jack, Luke, Mike Jr., Mariama, and Mackenzie. Neither Mike or Kristen grew up in a Christian home, and we’re so thankful (and still are) for friends who were courageous and loving enough to share the message of hope found in Jesus Christ! While they had different pasts, they both were immediately excited to share the life-changing truth of Jesus with their friends. While they attended college, they both were deeply involved leading a high school ministry called Young Life at two different schools. Mike works vocationally as the COO of a franchise organization and Kristen serves at CVC as the Local Serve Coordinator in addition to being COO at home. They count themselves blessed to live life with their kids and do life with high school students and other leaders.

Austin and Lauren met in college in 2014. Lauren moved to Cleveland to complete an internship with CVCYouth. Austin followed her here a few years later and they were married in May of 2019.
Austin works as a carpenter’s apprentice with Renew CLE and Lauren is CVCYouth’s Director of Ministry. They serve together in the North Royalton LifeGroup. Austin and Lauren truly enjoy getting to know students and encouraging them to live new in Christ.
When they aren’t spending time with students they are working on house projects, exploring parts of Cleveland, and trying new restaurants.
For around 17 years, we have been actively involved in the life and ministry of CVC. During this current season of life, we have children participating in the ministries of both Collide (middle school) and Impact (high school). As a result, it seems only natural to dive headlong into student ministries to help wherever we can. We live just off York Road in North Royalton, where we own and operate a small business. We are thankful for the flexibility our vocation gives us to serve the students and families of CVC. Our greatest desire is to demonstrate and guide students (and their families) toward an authentic and passionate pursuit of Christ. We believe this is best accomplished by “living life together.” Working with students at CVC allows us to walk alongside students and assist their parents in developing a deep faith. We are excited for the opportunity!
Kyle and Callista Smith are apart of the Broadview Heights life group. They met at Lipscomb University where they both played college soccer. They have a dog-son named Finnigan and they love to go on adventures as a family!
Kyle is currently in Pharmacy school at NEOMed and Callista works full-time at Case Western Reserve University as a biology lab research assistant and she is getting her Masters in Bioethics. They love hiking, climbing, snowboarding, swimming, and anything outdoors, but most of all having deep convos about the Lord and chilling with authentic community.

Clay and Autumn met at church during Autumn’s senior year of college. The two married in 2018 and have lived in Broadview Heights since. Clay works as an account manager for a software company. When clay is not working, he enjoys spending his free time playing games with friends. Autumn works as a mental health social worker in Summit County. Autumn spends most of her free time outdoors and particularly enjoys hiking and kayaking. The Coopers chose to serve with CVCYouth because they love to have fun and recognize the eternal significance of investing into younger generations of believers.
Nellie Spacek is originally from New York but has lived in Brecksville for 21 years. She started going to CVC in 2003 right after she came to Christ. Her two high school kids have been raised going to CVC youth programs. She is excited to serve as a LifeGroup leader in Impact as she really enjoys this age group.
Some of her passions are physical fitness, yoga, and reading. She has been in a book club for 15 years and loves to hear what people are reading. Fun fact: Nellie and her husband Chris were set up on a blind date in 1999 because of their love of skiing.
Kyle and Amy Gustafson have been leading an Impact Bible Study since they married in 2012. They are both pharmacists and love to travel; you will often find Kyle in his ‘natural habitat’ behind a camera lens! They have 2 adorable dogs and a sweet little boy, Ezra. Their two ministry loves are CVCYouth and Missions. They are passionate about equipping students to study the Bible and teaching the whole narrative of Scripture. Kyle and Amy are also the leaders of CVC’s medical mission trips to Ghana, West Africa, and have been part of a team-building a hospital there since 2012.
Melissa loves God, cats, running, and showing her students the love of Christ. In fact, if she isn’t bonding with students over-sharing adorable cat photos, you can count on her inviting them out for a hike/jog instead! She has been serving in CVCYouth since Frontlines 2017 and co-leads the Broadview Heights group. Melissa’s group knows her for being just as rambunctious as the students (sometimes) and encouraging them to find answers to their big questions by asking, “What does Scripture say?” and walking them through God’s Word together!

Jeff and Darla Marlow have been attending CVC for 30 years. They remember when CVC congregated at the BBH Middle School! They are involved with the Guest Reception Ministry, Pre-marital classes, and COTS. This year they were part of the “Parmesan” Lifegroup where they partnered with the other CVCYouth leaders to minister to students.
Jeff and Darla are both teachers at BBHCSD where they teach 5th grade and High School Algebra, respectively. They feel very blessed to have five children, including two sets of twins! Their kids have grown up in CVCYouth. Three of their children attend Liberty University and 2 are incoming seniors at BBHHS. “The Blessing” lyrics w/Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes continue to be a theme and a prayer for the family. This family continues to serve together, do life together, and give God the glory!
Hello, our names are Drew and Ashley Anderson. We lead the Parma Lifegroup at our home. We currently have our first daughter who is sweet and sassy and loves to hang out with the youth when they come over.
Drew is a steelworker in Cleveland and Ashley has a stay at home business and gets to spend her days with Collins our daughter. We absolutely love filling our home with people, so we would love to have you over stopover for LifeGroup!
Dahlia is a born and raised Jersey girl who loves the beach and traveling the world. She’s a huge fan of spontaneous dance parties and will never turn down a coffee and donut date. Dahlia moved to Cleveland in 2014 to be a part of the CVCYouth internship program and complete her master’s degree. She fell in love with CVCYouth so much during her internship year that she decided to stick around and has now served in student ministries for over 5 years. Dahlia served on staff at CVC in a variety of roles before starting her own business and taking that full-time. Dahlia is passionate about seeing students come to know Christ and loves investing in the lives of high school girls.
